The "Chinese Cultural Festival 2025" planned by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government's Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LRC) was held in Sha Tin City Hall and New Town Square on the afternoon of the 22nd. Through stage performances with Chinese cultural characteristics, "Jumping Intangible Cultural Heritage" performances and booth activities, exhibitions, etc., it will enhance the public's awareness and interest in Chinese culture and intangible cultural heritage (intangible cultural heritage). A series of exciting free events attracted about 18,000 people to participate. The "Jumping Intangible Cultural Heritage" performance and booth activities are also one of the "Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage Month 2025" programs.
In addition to the wonderful performances of the Bofulin Village Fire Dragon Club, the carnival has performed many excellent art troupes and intangible cultural heritage projects in mainland China and locally, including multiple music and dance performance excerpts from this year's "Chinese Culture Festival", including the museum series: "Voice from Cultural Relics", "Ancient Style·Current Song" Classic Literature × Contemporary Dance and "Taisheng and Lao Talent - His eldest uncle and his second uncle are his uncle" concert. At the same time, the "Jumping Intangible Cultural Heritage" performance includes intangible cultural heritage projects from Jiangxi Province such as Xingguo Mountain Song, Gannan Tea Picking Opera, Hakka Song and Style Dance, as well as local puppet show and Hakka Mountain Song Performance, which attracted many public people to stop and watch, and often received warm applause.
The carnival has several "Jumping Intangible Cultural Heritage" booth activities, covering a number of intangible cultural heritage-related skills, including brush and Hong Kong Chinese long gown production, puppet show, fishing net weaving, as well as movable type printing, flower belt weaving and gold foil laying techniques. Many citizens came to watch, demonstrate and participate in workshops to understand the rich connotations of intangible cultural heritage up close.
Today's carnival invited students from the "Teen Project of Co-creation" to participate. In addition to enjoying the live stage performance, they also participated in different booth activities to experience the charm of Chinese culture and intangible cultural heritage.
In addition, the Hong Kong Public Library's "Happy" library brings books related to the theme of Chinese culture, and the story ambassador also visited the carnival venue to tell wonderful stories to the children. The exhibition and interactive devices on the "Mobile Intangible Cultural Heritage" of the intangible cultural heritage car also attract citizens to visit. In addition, in the "Intangible Cultural Heritage Picture Book Storytelling" activity, friends and family can understand the intangible cultural heritage projects and characteristics of Hong Kong through intangible cultural heritage books.
Many citizens also visited the "The Mysteries of Chinese Characters" tour exhibition and the Ganzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage and Cultural Picture Exhibition in Jiangxi on site, and enjoyed the Chinese music performances of the Chinese music group students from the Music Affairs Office of the Leisure and Cultural Affairs Office.
